Declaration of Vision 2050 / 10:00 – 11:00 KST
We announce Vision 2050, which contains a long-term comprehensive strategy for the Korea In-stitute of Design Promotion, which is necessary for realizing a country for all and a country where everyone can live well together.
- Determining policy implications to anticipate and respond to changes in the external environ-ment such as low growth, aging, and spread of infectious diseases, and define design challenges
- Present key activities for realizing the future vision by dividing them into time series (2030-2050, 10 years increments) and setting specific performance indicators
- Avoid simple listing type business descriptions, and present future scenarios for each policy customer in terms of realizing national happiness.
Ceremony for DESIGN KOREA HALL OF FAME / 11:00 – 11:30 KST
The Korea Institute of Design Promotion runs the Design Korea Hall of Fame to record the histo-ry of Korean design through the dedication of designers who have contributed to the develop-ment of the Korean design industry, and to create a culture of respect by raising the honor and pride of designers.
Starting with the 2012 Hall of Fame Declaration, it continues to this day in order to permanently honor and preserve the achievements of the designers in the Design Korea Hall of Fame to em-phasize the importance and the status of design in all areas of society.

EXCELLENT DESIGN COMPANY / 11:30 – 12:00
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute of Design Promotion select the Excellent Design Companies to empower and strengthen the capabilities of Korean design companies grow as a global business. 8 leading companies and 12 promising companies were selected for the 11th Excellent Design Companies in 2020.
KOREA DESIGN AWARD/ 16:00 – 16:40 KST
The highest honor of Korean Design Award will be given to companies with outstanding design management and leading local industrial development.
The Korea Design Award is divided and awarded in 4 categories, "Design Management (for com-panies and organization)", "Design Company (for design companies)", "Local Government (for local governments)", and "Design Achievement (for individuals).”
GOOD DESIGN SECLECTION AWARD/ 16:40 – 17:00 KST
Pursuant to the Industrial Design Promotion Act, the Good Design (GD) Selection hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion has been awarded every year since 1985.
The Good Design (GD) Selection comprehensively reviews the goods and services that are sold or in planning to be sold in domestic and global markets in the aspects of the product design, purpose, material, economic efficiency, etc.. Good Design (GD) mark, a government certification, is granted to the items showing excellence in design. From 1985 to 2020, a total of 32,913 items were submitted and 12,666 items were selected.
The GD mark given to the selected products, revised once in 2004, strengthened its global com-petitiveness as a mark of good design through the revision of the Industrial Design Promotion Act on October 21, 2020 in order to raise the design phase of South Korea in the world.
